From Russia with love Westlife fans arriving early for the band's NEC dates on Sunday and Monday are set for some Eastern magic.
The support act is 21-year-old Alsou, who is already a sensation in her native Russia.
Within a year of being introduced to a music manager at the age of 15 Alsou had become Russia's biggest teen star.
"I was so unprepared for it," she recalls. "I remember just after my first single came out performing in a nightclub and crying all day because I was so nervous. Then I came out on stage and the crowd knew the song off by heart."
In 2000, she recorded her first English language single and was promptly entered into the Eurovision Song Contest where she was the runner-up. Her song went on to sell 100,000 copies and became the biggest selling single of all time in her home country, surpassed only by her next single, a duet with Enrique Iglesias.
Now based in London, she's dreaming of similar success in the west. Her r'n'b single Always On My Mind is a taster for her forthcoming album Inspired, which features a duet with rapper Nelly.
As if that wasn't enough, Alsou is also set to star in a new teen horror film, Spirit Tap, with Billie Piper.
She says: "For five years I've been living two lives between London and Russia.
"It's been so long and I've been working really hard on this album, and I want to let people everywhere hear it."
